The need to communicate is the most important mental need of a man. The fulfillment of
this need is the basis of realization of all other needs. It is fundamental for the development
of each child. People communicate using verbal and nonverbal mean of communication. The
latter category comprises mainly gestures.
One of the earliest effects of hearing dysfunction is the limitation or loss of the ability to
communicate using verbal signals. People with hearing disability are a specific group of
disabled people, because of their own, natural way of communicating, meaning the sign
language. The idea of bilingualism is gaining more and more fame in present times. According
to this idea, the sign language should be the primary language, enabling people with hearing
disability to develop their communication and lingual effectiveness skills.
