On 5–6 May 2014 in Kraków “Notepad Days” organized by the Faculty of Art at the Pedagogical
University of Cracow took place, as part of the Second Edition of the National Students’ NOTO
Competition – an artist’s notepad 2014. Taking notes is an expression of collecting emotions
and impressions, sometimes also objects, which serve as an inspiration in artistic work. Thus,
they are undoubtedly one of the most personal tools facilitating work of an artist, musician or
a writer and, understandably, very rarely accessible for the recipient of this or that creative
work. A possibility to peruse and read notepads is not a frequent one and it allows for
penetrating the creation process of work of art. The idea and organization of Notepad Days,
as well as the NOTO competition, merit attention, and most of all delving into the secrets the
artistic notes. The present article contains a few reflections on Notepad Days 2014, as well as
the post-competition exhibition of works.
