In this paper were presented results of the research, which were performed to specify
knowledge and expectations of use of media by active teachers, from primary and high
schools, in their self-learning process. The research concerned self-learning process, teachers
motivation to make an effort connected with this process and awareness of its importance
in mentally development, as well as in living. They also included issues connected with
participation of varied media in this process, the range of their application, access, ways
of practical use and expectations connected with taking advantages of them. The research
material was a group of 152 active teachers from primary and high schools in Małopolska
Province.
