The subject of the analysis is Juliusz Słowacki’s poem Ojciec zadżumionych written after his travel to the Holy Land. The author discusses its phonetic and phonological peculiarities (on the basis of spelling), nominał and verbal inflections, syntax, word formation, vocabulary and style. In this masterly, albeit smali, poem one can find all elements typical of Słowacki: 19lh century Pohsh morphology and svntax, eastern dialectal features, neologisms and archaic romantic expressions, poetic style integrated with colloquial speech.
