Presently the Internet is one of the elemental sources of information and entertainment.
This is facilitated by virtually unlimited access to online resources, the possibility of using
it anywhere at any time without having to travel and pay for journeys, without a need for
a direct (and often inconvenient) meeting, the possibility of a delayed in time (not immediate)
answer, or finally anonymity. The virtual world is also a perfect place to look for help
referred to as e-support. Among many available possibilities to communicate via the Internet,
there is a form that enables creating and maintaining a virtual journal/diary i.e. a blog.
Among the diverse group of bloggers, presenting their passions, achievements and opinions
there is a peculiar group – they are parents (father/mother or both parents) of children with
disabilities. Why do mothers of children with disabilities write blogs? What topics do they
raise most frequently? What are the benefits of being a blogger? Can writing a blog become
a form of self-therapy? The authors of this article are seeking for answers to these (and
other) questions by analyzing selected blogs written by mothers of children with disabilities.
