dc.description.abstract | The author poses a question of the model of Polish language education required by
contemporary students as well as diagnoses the situation of adolescents in the postmodern
cultural environment. He also indicates the drawbacks of the examination system that Polish
language education must reckon and designs an anthropological methodology of artistic
texts reading as a counterbalance to the formalized reading methods. The first part of the
article discusses the status of a literary work in the context of the most recent anthropological
concepts (M.P. Markowski) as well as postmodern and liquid-modern sociological spins
(Z. Bauman, U. Beck). Indication of literature as a message directly connected with experience
is an incentive for the treatment of reading as an individual adventure halfway between
reality and language. The main part of the article is devoted to the presentation of a method:
a student as a cultural actor. It was designed to make it easier for teachers to initiate and realize
the anthropologized process of literature teaching (D. Attdridge). The article presents an
outline of activities within the framework of the method. Each of the lesson stages comprises
a number of optional elements in order to show the multiplicity of the subjective aspects of
student’s activity. A Polish language lesson conducted according to this method assumes the
development of student’s individual reactions and should consist in the integration of his or
her individual beliefs into the reading process. | en |
