The author presents the results of an opinion poll conducted among lower secondary school students. The interviewees answered the question: Who a student of lower secondary school is? The analysis of the data shows the existence of a conflict between school as an institution, teachers who represent it and students’ expectations and ambitions. The results of the poll are also at odds with the consumerist image of teenagers presented in the media.en
