In the times of widespread aspirations for globalization it is necessary to undertake actions
that will incorporate education with glocalisational phenomena i.e. phenomena which
combine locality and globality. The article sheds new light on regional education by proposing
taking an interest in the urban space as the area where a bond between a young person, other
people and the place itself is formed.
The urban space – a busy road, shopping mall or extensive housing estates – may become
the area where patriotic attitude and the sense of community are formed and where creative
cooperation becomes possible.
The article presents propositions of educational projects designed for lower secondary school
students. Their aim is civic and cultural activity of young people as well as encompassing
the elements of the urban space, such as a housing estate, bus stop or a market square with
students’ axiological reflection.
