The subject of this paper is an analysis of argumentative texts constructed by grammar school pupils according to
the following scheme: the main assumption, for and (rarely) against arguments with the conviction that the receiver
shares the sender’s opinions about an influence of music. The discussion about music involved learned texts from
the Bible, mythology, and literature referring to the intellectual sphere (elements of the receiver’s likes and
dislikes connected with the age, semantics). Such texts belong to artificial competence of a group at the
approximate level of language acquisition that can be named a pupil’s argumentative skill.
