The article contains modular and integrated descriptions of language existence. While interpreting the relationship among reality, mind, and cognition, a logopedic point of view was chosen. The first part of the text discusses the standpoints according to which language can be analyzed only in the context of two other spheres: reality and thought. The views of Aristotle, Descartes, Charles Kay Ogden, and Ivor Armstrong Richards were mentioned. However, the greatest attention was devoted to Noam Chomsky and his minimalist programme. The second part of the text characterizes the integrated concept of language, according to which it is necessary to denote two, not three, spheres: being and thought, which is identical with language. At this point, the views of Ludwig Wittgenstein and cognitivists were briefly described. The last part of the article contains the interpretation of two opposing standpoints from the point of view of logopedic practice. Here, a reference was made to the notion of linguistic system acquisition and the choice of logopedic procedures in the defective discourse.en
