Categorization is one of the most important cognitive processes. Several studies indicate that
the ability to categorize impacts all subsystems of language. Language mistakes that children
make indicate the importance of those skills in language acquisition. Basic knowledge of
relationship between linguistic functions and cognitive functions must be a part of the
competence of the modern speech therapist.
