The article presents the Zamość model of system solutions of the care for disabled people from childhood to
adulthood. It has been developed and inculcated by the Association of Help for Disabled Children Krok za krokiem in
Zamość for 20 years. The support provided for a child and the family is organized in the form of day care in the
integrated system
of rehabilitation, educational and social activities. Such a form is convenient for the parents as it does not
require their constant presence with the child and relieves them from some of their responsibilities. The system is
similar to the organization of education and support
of children without disabilities who develop their intellectual, emotional and social potential in kindergarten and
school groups.
The choice of such an idea of working with a disabled child was dictated by the fact that none rehabilitation
method or technique is capable of fulfilling all conditions necessary for the proper development of a child nor of
his or her family functioning.
