dc.description.abstract | Creating day, activity or session plans using spatial-tactile or graphical signs is one of the first techniques
used in the process of learning augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). Usually discussed is its value
for the support of understanding situations and regulation of behaviours of children with developmental
difficulties. The technique is commonly used in kindergartens or special schools but it usually comes down to the
situation in which a teacher creates a plan at the beginning of a day or session. The article describes the way of
using the plan as a tool for organization of the linguistic environment. It suggests various versions of arranging
the technique depending on the therapeutic aims set for a child within the area of social and linguistic
techniques, communication pragmatics, movement perception and engagement. It allows therapists and teachers to use
the technique of a day plan in
a way that is more adequate to the developmental needs of particular children who learn the augmentative or
alternative communication. | en |
