Working with students with autism and additional developmental disorders at the level of lower secondary school requires a slightly different attitude than it used to be in primary school. Students are no longer children but young adults and thus a teacher faces new challenges due to their age and numerous changes in their functioning. One of such challenges is the organization of design and technology classes suitable for the developmental abilities and age of the students. The core curriculum says about „the creation of conditions for the acquisition of technical skills and using them in various real-life situations. Facilitation of using technical equipment which makes life easier”. When undertaking conducting design and technology classes one certainly needs to look at the future of the group. What should they be equipped in, what should they be taught in order to function better in their adult lives, to undertake professional careers? The presentation of what can be done on a daily basis with such a group of students will be an attempt to answer that question.en
