dc.description.abstractAn educational experiment that was undertaken in Gdańsk tests efficiency of solutions recommended by single projects undertaken in that field by various entities and the possibility of adapting solutions introduced by other countries, France in particular. The main aim of the experiment is the development of an integrated model of lower secondary school education for disabled people that would be oriented on individual development of the student’s potential and increasing his or her chances for fuller engagement in the social and professional life, with the use of innovative programme and organizational solutions. The experiment assumes an organization of a model of special lower secondary school education in three paths: path A – addressed to disabled and chronic adolescents with particular focus on adolescents with mild mental retardation; path B – addressed to people with special educational needs, with moderate and severe disability who need preparation for working in auxiliary professions; patch C – addressed to people with mild, severe and profound mental retardation with co-occurring multiple disabilities. The experiment is monitored on the basis of data during a four-year process of education. The conclusions resulting from the evaluation of the Education with an outlook for the future experiment will be published after it has been finished – in December 2012 (according to the schedule).en
