Abstract

Rozprawa doktorska Człowiek i świat rzeczy. Leksyka z zakresu kultury materialnej i jej społecznych aspektów w XX- wiecznych pamiętnikach górali podhalańskich prezentuje analizę leksyki wyekscerpowanej z pamiętników górali, podzielonej na siedem głównych pól leksykalno-semantycznych związanych z sytuacją materialną człowieka. Wyróżniono m.in. nazwy ludzi o różnym statusie społecznym, postawy wobec biedy i bogactwa, określenia sytuacji materialnej, pożywienia, odzieży, elementów gospodarstwa domowego i rolnego. Każde pole wzbogacono o komentarz historyczno- kulturowy. Analiza wykazała związek leksyki z hierarchią społeczną, samowystarczalnością i kulturą materialną górali. Odtworzony obraz świata ukazuje skromne warunki życia w I połowie XX w., a porównanie z danymi słownikowymi potwierdza trwałość podhalańskiej leksyki z tego okresu.

The doctoral dissertation The Human Being and the World of Objects. The Lexis of the Material Culture and Its Social Aspects in 20th-Century Memoirs of Podhale Highlanders is an analysis of the vocabulary excerpted from the memoirs of the Podhale Highlanders, classified into seven principal lexical-semantic fields pertaining to the material circumstances of the individual. These include, among others, terms denoting individuals of varying social status, attitudes towards poverty and wealth, as well as expressions related to material circumstances, food, clothing, household and farm life. Each field is accompanied by historical and cultural commentary. The analysis revealed correlations between the lexis and the social hierarchy, self-sufficiency and material culture of the Highlanders. The reconstructed linguistic worldview reveals the modest living conditions of the first half of the 20th century, while the comparison with lexicographic data confirms that the Podhale lexis from that period is well attested.
