As citizens - unaware; as voters - wavering in decisions, detached from reality, less "sophisticated", thus susceptible to demagogy and illusory catchwords, little interested in politics. As citizens, socially immature because of expected social attitudes, weakly active and poorly involved. These kind of opinions present themselves in the construction of the democratic society in Poland, At the same time, they represent some of the results of the civic education of society from the Public Opinion Research Center and Polish National Election Study from 2011. These opinions were also confirmed by Gallup Europe in Flash Eurobarometer during the national debate organized on the occasion of European Youth Week in Warsaw, “Young Europeans” 16 of May 2011 and the Youth Eurobarometer. This is not very positive feedback relating to building a civil society in Poland - which coincided with the European scientific and public debate - increasingly lifting the subject of scarcity, crisis or even collapse of democracy. It began to appear more and more often in different background positions, showing the necessity of taking action to restore the lost glory of democracy. Thus, the issue of improving democracy is raised. The researchers emphasize the factor and role of political socialization, which determines participation and is crucial in terms of quality, i.e. meaning civic education.en_EN
