Poczucie bezpieczeństwa jako wartość we współczesnej szkole

Abstract

Axiological issues seem to be more and more often discussed as far as education is concerned. One of such important and universal values is the sense of security and safety. The article emphasizes the essential role of family home for that matter, however, the author underlines that the influence of environment in which children are brought up and where they live is also important, especially the things that happen at school. Lack of sense of security and safety can have very serious effects, from lowering the quality of life and difficulties in functioning in the society and in relations with other people, to dangerous personality disorders. It is important to emphasize that there is no such thing as total safety and that one cannot always avoid risk. So children should be made aware of all possible hazards and taught how to deal with them.
