Wybrane psychologiczne aspekty struktury i rozwoju sumienia

Abstract

This theoretical paper includes issues of structure, development and regulatory role of conscience in decisional process. On the beginning the three-dimensional conscience ’s concept by A. Kępiński (1992) was described. The native, social and also psychological sources of the intrinsic mechanism were explained and morał anxiety symptoms matched. Then the regulatory role of morał feelings such as shame, guilt or pride in the pre and post decisional phases was pointed. Next the ontological process of development of conscience in childhood, adolescence and adultness was presented. The progress is threatened by personality’s disorders. Repressing id's needs or super-ego’s influences limits the development and facilities suffer of man (e.g scrupulous trait of personality) or milieu (e.g. psychopathic tendency). The analysis brought us to maturę image of conscience by G. Allport (1988). He pointed the ripe conscience is based on positive real values not on social anxiety. So the individual is rather encouraged to morał decision than punished by experience of guilt.
