dc.description.abstractThe author of the article presents some issues in professional training of teachers of Polish, on the basis of the surveyed teachers’ opinions. The results of the conducted survey concentrate on strong and weak points of professional qualifications of young teachers, and on the evaluation of the methods of training. The respondents evaluated most positively didactic qualifications of Polish teachers, secondly – their subject-matter preparation, and thirdly – psychological-pedagogical qualifications. They also suggested introducing three innovations into the process of teachers training, which concern: diminishing the amount of theoretical knowledge for the sake of practical methodological classes, introducing a wide range of interdisciplinary classes to choose from, and introducing an exam testing students’ dispositions to work as teachers of Polish.en_EN
