The article presents an analysis of the socio-cultural changes in Poland after 1989 in the
context of changes of the identity of young people and new educational forms resulting from
it. For several years there are observable changes taking place in educational systems in
Poland, which causes a discussion and polemic on the issue of introducing changes. There are
voices of satisfaction, but there are also a lot of critical ones, which encourage to seek further
for educational solutions. There are also many negative phenomena which can be observed
at schools, such as the increasing level of aggression of students, hyperactivity problems, and
also addiction problems of many kinds. When analyzing the socio-cultural changes connected
with the educational changes, one can clearly see in students a lower level of independent and
creative thinking and an attitude towards the ad hoc, often mercantile goals. The teachers,
on the other hand, often find themselves in new situations which confront them with new
challenges, which requires them to use a special approach to a student and an appropriate
range of interpersonal and communicative skills. That is why teachers are offered to study
psychological education which can be conducted in a form of specialized training, workshop
or even interpersonal training.
