An artist - a work of art - time. Relations between these three entities constitute the basis for the analysis of
time relation towards the permanence of the work of art. An emerging question concerns the link between artistic
truth, the artist’s truth and vitality of his/her art. How important is the artist’s ethos for the truth value of
his/her work? The artist’s fate, battling personal convictions and the time pressure imposed by the ambition to
gain recognition among the contemporaries. A reflection on the mechanisms, which form an artist when blurred become
the criteria of evaluation and relativism becomes the only doctrine which is safe and free from the critique. A
work of art becomes that indeed when all the additional marketing support disappears and merely the sense is
legible and clear also for future generations, even when the name of the author falls into oblivion.
