The article presents results of an analysis of eight computer programs for Polish language and literature learning in Lower
Secondary School and Secondary School. The following aspects of the examined multimedia have been taken into account: the
amount of text, its functions and relations with other media (static images, motion videos, sound), as well as whether and to what
extent the possibilities that “electronic text” has, the ones “traditional texts” lack, have been utilized.
The research shows that in most of the educational programs text dominates, overrides all the other media and is almost self-
sufficient. Other media are relatively scarce and used chiefly for aesthetics. Also, the learning aids do not take advantage of the
unique possibilities that computer and texts in the electronic form provide.
