The article is an analysis of selected aspects of the didactic process at the Faculty of Arts
at the Pedagogical University of Krakow in view of the practices of other art universities. It
pays special attention to the courses devoted to intermedia and interdisciplinary ateliers. It
contains a comparison of curricula and activities proposed by particular teachers-artists and
a discussion of selected interdisciplinary master diplomas from the last few years. The author
believes that doubts related to names of particular courses seem irrelevant as each of them is
supported by the personality, education, and experience of the person who conducts it. Skills
that are gained at different levels of education, also in the field of history and theory of art,
acquired while preparing theoretical papers, lead the student to multilayered realizations
that, although not perfect yet, might pay off in the future.
