The topic of a creative teacher, who apart from his/her educational activities also undertakes
creative endeavours, is associated with the responsibility in the experiences with fellow
participants of the common reality. Those first meetings in creative output in a way mark out
the way for the future ones, prepare the participants for making decision as for the manners
of participation. The article refers to a meeting with the students of Special School Complex
no. 11 in Kraków. The disabled usually do not undertake any activity on their own accord,
but they have invited the university students of Artistic Education. A very interesting and
important cooperation has stemmed from this common experience. While familiarizing
ourselves with the special school students and teachers, we noticed that each situation
had the characteristics of creativity, both on the part of pupils and the tutors. Each of these
situations brimmed with willingness and engagement – the one preparing for life, and the
one involving art as an element of therapeutic activities. This unfamiliar reality taught the
teachers-to-be how intensive their peers can feel the need of safety and social contacts.
