Abstract
The aim of this article is to present educational properties of sacral Cham dance (‘cham) in Tibet. In the introduction, communication qualities in the art of dance are discussed, the Tibetan concept of art is outlined and the course of the key phases of Cham is analysed. The summary presents two thematically divided groups of educational values in Cham: common – associated with gaining knowledge which improves earthly existence and unworldly – aimed at carrying out the soteriological goal, that is the perfect state of Buddha.
