The article focuses on the theoretical analysis of complex, linked, multiple severe and multiple disabilities. It
treats the subject within its historical and current context as well as discusses and interprets the highlighted
notions showing differences between them. Particular attention is paid to the presentation of the concept of linked
disability and the view of L.S. Vygotsky on the perception of serious, complex and multiple disabilities. The
article also highlights the influence of the interpretation of these terms on the process of rehabilitation and
education of disabled people.
