This article: „Teacher's attitude towards the challenges of the present school" is a synthesis of the results of the researches conducted by The Chair of Social Studies and Safety of KEN Pedagogical University in Cracow. The topic of the article involves the opinion of the high school youth towards their school and teachers. It is well known that teacher's job was and is a job of social trust. Unfortunately, the results of the research were not optimistic. Approximately 50% of the tested students responded negatively towards going to school. Furthermore, the results show that teacher does not play a major role in solving student's problems. In the world of the student, the teacher is expected to be a person who supports and loves young people. Teachers are expected to be professional, reflecting a strong work ethics, while being open and friendly. In one word - the teacher should be a good person. However, life often shows a different reality. The current results reflected in this article show that further diagnosis is needed regarding the issues of being a teacher, their responsibilities and their mission in the 21st Century.en_EN
