The subject of the paper is the contents of some radio broadcast texts prepared for the youth at school age. The addressee are young people who got some knowledge during school education and they can interpret the natural- biological aspect of reality, but they still need to learn enough the cultural and social realities to manage them rationally, self-dependently, and safely. Radio broadcasting nowadays is of great importance in creating the view of the world and the value hierarchy as well as propagating definite ways of behaving. The authors tried to answer several questions: what type of knowledge finds its explication in radio broadcasts prepared for the youth, what does the knowledge concern, what level of rationality does it represent, what is its scope and quality, who does it belong to and by what means is it communicate? Moreover the authors analyzed the contents of some radio broadcasts considering variables arising from specificity of communicational situation (i.e. pragmatic one), from cognitive experiences gained by listeners at school, and from functions that broadcasts fulfil in general course of education and upbringing of the youth. Additionally, the authors discuss forms and speech genres being used to impart knowledge. They also search for relations between genre form of a broadcast and the type of contents and the specificity of radio as a medium.en_EN
