Pesticides represent the significant environmental contaminants, but often we cannot avoid their use in agriculture for plant protection and health of people and animals from diseases spread by vectors. Their extensive use raises the question about the toxicity of pesticides to non-target organisms, persistence, accumulation and combined effect with other agrochemicals. A great attention is paid to the study of impact of extraneous substances from external environment on humans and animals lately. It is mainly due to the high contamination of environment by chemical substances used in industry and agriculture. The most pesticides are not highly selective, and are generally toxic to many nontarget species, including humans. Bendiocarb is a broad spectrum pesticide which is used in agriculture and households. Also, it is one of 12 insecticides recommended by the World Health Organization for use in malaria control in Africa. Therefore, the results can lead to influence the concentration and amount of bendiocarb used not only in agriculture and households, but also in the pharmaceutical field, in order to reduce risk to human and animal health. The present book Bendiocarb; pesticide exposure and toxicity in animals is a collection of selected research articles providing adequate and up-to-date information related to bendiocarb pesticide control, assessment and toxicity, especially in the rabbit. The book provides issues associated with embryotoxicity, genetic susceptibility, histopathology of selected organs, to the understanding of bendiocarb pesticide-related effect belonging to the group of carbamate pesticides. Further, hematological parameters and some antioxidant enzymes as biochemical markers for pesticide toxicity are examined. Given that the purity of environment and the negative impact of contamination on human and animal health is currently highly topical problem, we consider it necessary to pay attention to the action of pesticides on living organisms and thus to expand and acquire new knowledge about their potentially harmful effects. The adequate information related to bendiocarb pesticide control, assessment and toxicity provided in this book should interest the specialists, involved in monitoring of pesticides. Thanks are extended to each of the authors for their efforts in contributing to the Bendiocarb; pesticide exposure and toxicity in animals.en_EN
