The aim of this article is to present a personal model of a teacher created by Henryk Rowid - the representative of “the creative school” on the turn of the 19th century. There is some general image of an ideal tutor in every society. This model is usually created on the base of the social views on teacher tasks and duties. A type of a teacher and an attitude of a society towards him have been changing in the course of history, they depend on the ruling political and social system, outlook on life, level of education and culture of a given nation. The turn of the 19th century creates a new type of a teacher – tutor, a person who passes to his pupils not only knowledge but also values and who forms their attitudes. “The creative school” requires from the teachers better psychological and pedagogical preparation. Its representatives pay a special attention to a personality of a tutor, they think that the process of teaching and upbringing depends directly on the personal features of a teacher and the effects of education depend on them. The creator of “the creative school” Henryk Rowid presents and analyses the desired features of an ideal teacher – tutor. The characteristic concept of an organization of the process of teaching in “the creative school” sets a teacher a new task: necessity to search for own ways and methods of work.en_EN
