The teacher is a coordinating and integrating factor dealing with many educational roles that are related not only to students but also to their parents. Teachers, parents and students are the most significant educational agents that are involved in the educational process of the student at school. Everyone plays his part. If any of the part becomes weaker, there is a risk that a desired educational effect will not arrive. Aims of the school and family are complementary and overlap in many cases. The prime mediator of the child’s education and upbringing is, however, the family. In the educational process, the teacher is given a great part of autonomy therefore he/she becomes co-responsible for the child’s education. To understand the responsibility, it is important to ask for quality cooperation between the family and school. Nevertheless, the practice and empirical findings often show that many teachers are not prepared enough for cooperation with parents. This has resulted from empirical experience of many experts and professionals as well as from experience of many beginning teachers.en_EN
