A university teacher, as well as a teacher at any other school, introduces new facts to
his students and helps them extend their knowledge. The teacher develops competencies
that are required for the student’s future professional as well as his active personal life.
This process is carried out in different forms of university education through various
pedagogical activities. It is needless to say that if a teacher is supposed to be successful, he
or she must know the content of his/her pedagogical activity and methods of work so as
to guarantee quality and effective educational performance.
The importance of university pedagogical activity is obvious when taking into
consideration its impact on the student’s personality as well as on the whole society.
Generally speaking we may say that the university teacher’s pedagogical activity forms
personalities of young people. Economical, political, social and cultural development of
the society depends much on the level of preparation of young people. Future teachers
are those who will be transferring information to our children and also forming their
personalities during their formal education.
